Welcome! I am a self-taught photographer, though I like to think I come by it naturally - my grandfather was a professional photographer. This is, in a sense, my 3rd job, as I spend the rest of my time being a mother and a family physician. I’ve come to realize that I approach photography in much the same way I do patients - I simply strive to discover what makes a person tick, and attempt to capture it on film. I try to infuse each portrait with an organic sensibility, so it never feels awkward or posed, but instead reveals a person’s innate beauty and individuality, with comfortable and natural settings lending a sense of intimacy. Though I enjoy all subjects, I specialize in portraiture, from bridal to children and families.
I’m currently shooting with a Canon digital SLR camera. I love the flexibility of digital - from switching between color and b&w to retouching - the possibilities are endless. I do all the processing and printing myself to ensure quality. I am available for commissioned work, as well as prints.
